An Inconvenient Truth - Dan's review
The film is basically a slideshow Al Gore takes around with him all over the world, that very bluntly and simply shows why Global Warming isn't a myth.
There are few films I'll probably ever attach the phrase, "you have to fucking watch this" to. In short, we're FUCKED and as pretentious as it sounds, everyone needs to know so something can be done about it.

A PUBLIC SERVICE ANOUNCMENT; DO NOT SEE XMEN 3 [SPOILERS WITHIN]
Apparently so. I wondered if the backlash was merely a right wing nutjob conspiracy against anything that might question the Christian faith, even in a fictional context, but it really seems that NO-ONE likes this film. Or that their conspiracy is INCREDIBLY well executed.
Jury says, "complete creative disaster". A bit harsh I reckon. I'll wait to judge for myself, though there's been a lot of negative backlash regarding a liberty they took with part of the story which i won't spoil here.
If you grew up in the 80?s you might remember those losers from high school. You know the ones, those long greasy-haired, rock T-shirt-wearing head-bangers. Okay, so maybe we were those guys, but we grew up and became preppy, latte sippin? productive members of society. Right? Well FUBAR?s Terry and Dean didn?t!
The Wachowskis and John McTeague team up for this utter gem of 'stick it to the man' filming. Ignore all the negative press you've read. It's probably all written by the very people the film makes comment on.
...and yet, the film's begining moments suck to the point of putting you off seeing them. Almost. The first hour flirts with being a b-movie level Hong Kong thriller, then the Director sees sense and introduces a level of awesomeness so high that it leaves Ong Bak in a crippled forgotten heap. Yup; it's *that* good.
Just got back from seeing AVP. I know all my friends think it is a soulless travesty. The consensus seems to be that if Alien 3 & 4 were akin to a fat man pissing in your mouth, AVP is about squeezing the last few drops in your eye.
